One of the most extraordinary German artists of the second half of the 20th century is Horst Sagert, born 1934 in Dramburg in Pomerania. In the sixties he became famous as stage and costume designer of the legendary production of the “dragon” by Benno Besson at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, which was played over 500 times, in addition to his theatrical work, which culminated in the “Urfaust” staging at the Berliner Ensemble , in which he also directed, created an extensive work as a painter, draftsman, sculptor and medalist. This exhibition is dedicated to an exhibition of the Stiftung Schloss Neuhardenberg. The catalog for this exhibition documents Sagert’s multi-faceted work from six decades.
