DÄMONEN is something that happens between mind, body and image
In the last house just behind the western border of Russia, between Paris / Texas and Korleput / Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Cindy Sherman, Dogma 95 and Duma 2000, Frank Castorf stages his first film DÄMONEN as a sort of post-Soviet Pan-Slavic panopticon in his own version on the Based on Dostoyevsky’s ‘Demons’ and Camus ‘The Possessed’.
The outfitter Bert Neumann has set up the simple bungalow designed by him (the “dacha”) and “swimming pool”, in and around which the piece plays, in a barren landscape of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
